The Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood says the legacy of Ghana’s judiciary is wobbling with corruption and greed.

“We live in perilous moments and the legacy of our legal forebears is wobbling. Corruption, greed, avarice have overcome the values and virtues that once shaped the third branch of governance and instilled a sense of pride in the courts."

The Chief Justice was speaking at the annual conference of the Ghana Bar Association in Kumasi.
She assured that everything is being done to cleanse the system.
“Quite apart from the ongoing investigations there are three impeachment proceedings pending against high court judges two others in the pipeline and an even larger number of disciplinary proceedings are pending against registrars and other judicial service staff.”
Those who have failed to uphold the tenets of the legal system she said “must face the wrath of the law and bear the full force of blind justice that knows no favouritism”

Meanwhile there are two cases filed by the indicted judges in court seeking some reliefs. One suit is challenging the locus of the Chief Justice’s committee set up to look into the allegations, and the other is seeking to prevent the premiering of the video of the corruption by Tiger eye.
