Police officer who supplies robbers guns busted

The officer, Corporal Effah Kyere allegedly sold three guns to the armed robbers for operation.

The Upper East Regional Police command have arrested a police officer for supplying guns and other offensive weapons to armed robbers.

Corporal Effah Kyere Boadu was arrested after group of robbers who were busted by the police mentioned his name as the one who supplies them with the guns.

He allegedly sold three pistols belonging to the Police Service to the robbers.

The robbers were all arrested in a failed operation after a heavy gunfire exchange between a police patrol team in Bolgatanga.

According to reports, the armed robbers upon their interrogation named Corporal Effah Kyere’s name as the one behind the weapons.

The police investigator said further checks at the residents of the criminals uncovered an additional pistol and boxes of ammunition.

Corporal Effah Kyere together with the robbers have been detained at Navrongo police station pending further investigations.
