A Deputy Minister of Education in charge of tertiary education has said the government is set to recruit 2,300 teachers for the newly constructed community day schools.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa made this known in a series of tweet Friday, hailing it as government effort at changing lives and transforming Ghana.
The construction of the community day schools was in fulfilment of the manifesto pledge of the governing National Democratic Congress. The party promised to build 200 hundred of such schools across the country in a bid to improve access to education.
However, the government has so far commissioned 10 out of the 200 promised, although some 123 are at various stages of completion.
