Paul Pogba is now the most expensive footballer of all time, with Manchester United having agreed to pay Juventus €110m (£93.8m) to take him back to Old Trafford. "He will break Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer record because there can be only one Mona Lisa, " Mino Raiola said of Paul Pogba in January 2015.
The nature of his role could determine whether Paul Pogba flops or flies at Manchester United
Whether you agree with the latter clause, the former has now become fact. However, Pogba hasn't just broken Ronaldo's transfer record, he's also smashed Gareth Bale's.
But the big question is, where is Pogba going to fit in Jose Mourinho's side? The self-acclaimed 'Special One' must figure out how best to fit the France midfielder into his star-studded starting XI.
When given the chance to get forward and attack, Paul Pogba is an absolutely sensational footballer. When he is asked to defend and dictate play from deep, he is vastly less effective.
Restricting Pogba's movement will be counter-productive. France manager Didier Deschamps tried it at the Euros and Pogba looked like a caged lion.
In the Euro 2016 final defeat to Portugal, Pogba started in front of the defence and sprayed the odd impressive diagonal but rather remained on the periphery of the game. His impact was severely limited and he looked far from the most valuable player on the planet.
Along with Jose Mourinho's recent assertion that Wayne Rooney would not be playing in midfield anytime soon, a space in an attacking position may be hard to come for Pogba.
Mourinho has already vowed Rooney will not play in midfield, as he has for England, so a move to 4-3-3 would leave the United skipper vying with Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the lone striker’s role.
“Maybe he is not a striker, not a No. 9 anymore but for me he will never be a No. 6, playing 50 metres from the goal," Mourinho said of Rooney. "For me he will be a 9, a 10, a nine-and-a-half but never a 6 or even an 8.”
In this sense, and after watching Manchester United's games against Everton and Leicester City respectively, Wayne Rooney is due to start the season in the No. 10 role.
With Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial also vying for limited spots, Pogba may have to compromise the best aspects of his game.
Pogba excelled at Juventus on the left-hand side of midfield in a 4-3-3 formation, but Mourinho appears set to adopt a 4-2-3-1 system in his first season at Old Trafford.

It would oblige Pogba to adopt a deeper position, which could compromise Mourinho’s ability to get the very best out of him.
“Used in the right way in this United team, Pogba’s long-range shooting and ability to get into the box will make him a massive threat,” says former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy, now a BBC pundit.
New signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan can also play as a central playmaker and Mourinho has further options in the shape of Spanish midfielders Juan Mata and Ander Herrera.
Were Mourinho to make putting Pogba in his optimum position a priority, by reverting to a 4-3-3 system, it would create dilemmas elsewhere in the team.
Paul Pogba''s place at Manchester United is certain. He has surley secured a place in Mourinho's team. But the nature of his role could determine whether he flops or flies.
