Graphic Sack Daniel Kenu

'It's true they have sacked me, I just read my sack letter' Daniel Kenu lamented

Do you remember the Daily Graphic journalist who was allegedly beaten up severely by thugs led by former Black Stars forward Baffour Gyan who also happens to be the elder brother of Captain Asamoah Gyan?

Pulse.com.gh can exclusively confirm that the Ashanti Regional Editor of Daily Graphic, Daniel Kenu, has been dismissed by his employers, Graphic Communications Group Limited.

He has been sacked with immediate effect by the state owned media company.

"It's true that they have sacked me. I just read my sack letter," Kenu reportedly told a radio station in Kumasi.

Kenu made the news after suffering the assault for querying Asamoah Gyan on Castro’s missing saga at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on the eve of Ghana's opening AFCON 2015 qualifier against Uganda.

Baffour Gyan was accused to have led 'machomen' to execute the attack and was consequently arrested and arraigned before court as Kenu vowed to pursue justice to its limit.

Graphic Communications Group led by Managing Director, Ken Ashiegbe threw their full weight behind the ace journalist in pursuit of justice at the law courts but Kenu soon shocked the entire country when he announced he had withdrawn the case from court due to family and personal pressured citing the death of his uncle.

Our informants have revealed that a committee set up by Graphic to investigate Kenu's decision recommended the journalist be summarily dismissed but Kenu was temporarily retained pending formalisation of the dismissal.

"There was a committee that was set up to sit on the issue which recommended that he should be summarily dismissed but that would have meant he would have lost all his entitlement," a source close to Graphic told Pulse.com.gh.

"But now every due process has been executed and he will get all entitlements due him as an employee," our source added.
