The 2016 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo has charged the newly elected flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) to refrain from engaging in personality attacks during his campaign.
He thus expressed the hope that Ivor Greenstreet and the CPP will contribute to the shaping of the political discourse, from one of “personality attacks to a competition of programmes, policies and ideas.”
This, the NPP leader said will help to reinforce the peace and stability of our nation.
He congratulated Mr. Greenstreet on his election as CPP flagbearer and also congratulated his three other contenders; Samia Nkrumah, Joseph Agyapong and Bright Akwettey for their pledge of support for Mr. Greenstreet.
The national delegates of the CPP elected Mr. Greenstreet on Saturday to lead the party into the November polls.
He has pledged to provide hope to frustrated Ghanaians and save them from the bad governance of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
His closest contender, Ms Nkrumah has however, accused him of paying the delegates to vote for him.
