Government has inaugurated and handed over the renovated girls’ dormitory to the Ghana Secondary School (GHANASS) authorities in Koforidua.

Some of the students had their properties, including school uniforms, exercise books, and other materials totally destroyed by the fire. No casualty was recorded.

The situation compelled authorities to close down the school temporarily to enable them come out with a medium term measure to house the students affected.

The Deputy Minister of Education in-charge of Pre-tertiary, Mr Alexander Kyeremeh, who handed over the renovated facility urged school authorities to ensure that students did not use electrical appliances in their dormitories.
