President John Mahama had indicated clearly that he will not spend a cedi outside the 2014/2015 budget on unplanned expenditure.
The President of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr Kwabena Opoku Adusei has said the association is not expecting their conditions of service to take effect this year.
The president said he is determined to make sure that Ghana does not go back to the International Monetary Fund for a bail out. This he is determined to do no matter the political cost.
Doctors are expected to withdraw emergency and inpatient services today as they enter phase two of their roadmap to resign en masse.
Speaking to journalist on the side lines of the inauguration of a water treatment plant at the Tema General Hospital, Dr. Poku Adusei said "we don't have any regret that is our negotiating proposals and we stand by them. We have not said that we needed money from government now."
He said they never mentioned in their negotiations that implementation should take place in 2016
"The agreement that the government team is not telling Ghanaians is that" Dr. Opoku Adusei said "what we said and what we have agreed is that whatever agreement we come to will be factored in the 2016 budget to start implementation in 2016."
