Man 'butchers' wife over wedding row

The mother of the victim narrated that the couple had a misunderstanding on Saturday after the woman attended a wedding ceremony against her husband’s orders.

The woman whose name was given as Ama Nyarkoa was admitted at the Oda Government Hospital and later referred to the Asamankese Government Hospital both in the Eastern Region.

The incident occurred Sunday at Akyem Akroso near Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region.

According to Accra-based Starr FM, the mother of the victim narrated that the couple had a misunderstanding on Saturday after the woman attended a wedding ceremony against her husband’s orders.

The right hand of the woman is almost chopped off after the suspect inflicted two deep cuts at the upper and lower part of the hand. She also suffered deep cutlass wound on her back, Mouth, neck and buttocks.

The suspected husband has since absconded.

The couple has six children.

The victim has again been referred to the Regional Hospital in Koforidua for intensive care, however, the family is struggling to foot the medical bills and the Ghc400 ambulance cost.
