NPP accuses Mahama of campaigning for sympathy votes

In his recent tour of the region, president Mahama cut sod for the construction of an irrigation dam and the the Bolga-Bawku road.

Speaking at a news conference held in Bolgatanga Friday, NPP regional chairman, Murtala Mohammed, said president Mahama has consistently failed to honour promises he made to the people of the region.

"The president only came to the region to do sod cutting ceremony ahead of the November elections so that he will win vote form the people having neglected them in the NDC's seven and half years rule," he said.

He also promised people two new sheanut processing plants in the Upper East and West Regions.
