Ghanaian in limbo as West Brom move breaks down

Jeffrey Schlupp has been left frustrated after Leicester blocked his proposed move to West Bromwich Albion.

Manager Claudio Ranieri had told Schlupp he could leave, but the club's owners and director of football refused to sanction the transfer.

Schlupp is keen to leave the King Power in order to play regular first-team football and is keen on a switch to the Hawthorns.Schlupp made 24 appearances for Leicester last season as they won the Premier League title, but has been mainly used as a squad player.

But Leicester have now rejected two bids for Schlupp; the Foxes now adamant that the 23-year-old is not for sale.

The club's stance has left Schlupp unhappy going into the final days of the transfer window.

Schlupp was left out of Leicester's opening day defeat to Hull City and with Ranieri unable to guarantee the player regular first-team action Schlupp now faces the scenario of spending this season on the sidelines.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis is keen to take the versatile player to The Hawthorns before the close of the transfer window. He has seen four bids rejected with the Foxes' director of football Jon Rudkin now saying that the 23-year-old is not for sale.
