Dr Anthony Akoto Osei, Member of Parliament for Tafo-Pankrono has called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the leadership of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to put in place measures to check acts of lawlessness in the country.
He said the perpetrators of lawlessness who are members of the party must be disciplined.

There have been pockets of political violence and acts of lawlessness in some parts of the country.
After the 2016 general election results were announced, some militant groups affiliated to the NPP have engaged in acts of impunity all in the name of protecting party interest. The Invincible and Delta Forces, both NPP vigilante groups, have assaulted persons purported to be members of the past National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
There have also been attacks on members of the NPP with that of the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, George Agyei by members of the Delta Force causing outrage. Some 13 persons are currently standing trial in respect of that attack.

Some Ghanaians take the law into their own hands and administer instant justice on people they suspect to have committed crimes. This type of justice, while not an everyday occurrence, is common in both the rural and urban areas of Ghana.
Some aggrieved residents at Somanya in the Eastern Region have clashed with Police officers in the area over the arrest of the leader who organised a demonstration against the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
The irate youth burned the police car in the process.
The MP addressing the press after a delegates' conference at Pankrono in the Ashanti Region on Sunday, he said the indiscipline in the party regarding demonstrations on how members receive announcements of appointments was unacceptable.

"Some groups or individuals in the party are rising against authority because persons of their choice have not been appointed. The party hierarchy needs to rise up and discipline those indiscipline guys," he said.
