“The President’s power is a constitutional one. If anybody wants to challenge it, it may not fly.”
One of the lawyers for the three George Loh said the President only exercised his constitutional powers.
Backing his colleague, Edudzi Tamakloe who spoke to Accra-based Citi FM said
He further argued that he does not believe President Mahama has erred by granting pardon to the three even though a Ghanaian citizen, Elikplim L. Agbemava, filed a suit seeking an interlocutory injunction to restrain the President from exercising his prerogative of mercy to free the three contemnors.

But Edudzi Tamakloe said he believes no legal advice has been given to the President on the matter. “I personally believe the President hasn’t been advised legally on this matter. I, for now, want to associate myself with my client in this excitement in the remission that they have gotten.”
He said the contemnors have shown remorse for their actions even before they were sentenced. He encouraged that everybody learns from the case of the three.
