Mahama’s contender is a ‘misfit’ in NDC – Adu Asare

A former Member of Parliament for the Adenta constituency, Kojo Adu Asare has described George Boateng, the man who intends contesting President John Mahama in the presidential primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a “misfit" in the party.

According to him, after listening to several interviews the 45-year old former Oyarifa Branch Youth Organizer of the party granted media houses, he is convinced that Mr Boateng is not a member of the NDC.

“Following interviews he has granted to media houses, we can assess whoever we are talking about and based on that we think that he is a misfit, in terms of we believing that he is NDC. He doesn’t fit in… I have listened to that gentleman personally and I don’t believe the gentleman is an NDC person, I don’t,” the Presidential Staffer said on Citi FM's on Saturday.

George Boateng has been in the news after he declared his intentions to contest President Mahama in the party’s November 7 primaries.

The aspirant has since been engaged in verbal articulations with some members of the party, especially Mr Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary of the party, who described him as having a mental disorder.

National executives of the party have ruled out the possibility of allowing him contest President Mahama, arguing that the forms he bought were draft copies.

Mr Boateng has however stated that he will pick new formsfrom the party’s headquarters on Monday.
