Yaya Toure wins BBC African Footballer of the Year award 2015 [10th Dec 2015]

Yaya Toure has been named as BBC African player of the year for the second time.The Ivory Coast and Manchester City star beat strong competition from Ghana's Andre Ayew, Gabon's Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Yacine Brahimi of Algeria.

The Bui Power Authority  intends to carry out testing of the spill gate from Monday December 14 to 16.This is after the dam experienced a maximum inflow of water for the first time since its construction.The External and Community Relations Manager, Mumbilla Salifu, assured the public that all water discharged from the dam would flow into the Volta Lake to enhance power generation in the Akosombo dam as well as the Kpong Generation Station.

Police have arrested eight suspects in connection with the theft of ornaments decorating the dreaded deity, the Antoa Nyamaa in the Ashanti Region.Kenyase District Police Commander, DSP Emmanuel Adu-Boahene, who confirmed the arrest said "the finger prints of the suspects had been taken for further investigations.

Former Inspector General of Police Mohammed Alhassan and his predecessor Paul Tawiah Quaye have received national honours from the state. Former Finance Minister, Kwabena Agyepong and some twenty-six others are also part of the awardees. President John Mahama conferred the awards on the 28 dignitaries for distinguishing themselves in various fields of endeavor during the National Honours and  Award Ceremony in Accra.
