The suspended NPP General Secretary, Mr.Kwabena Agyapong has dragged the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP Bernard Antwi Boasiako and the Multimedia Group before the High Court over alleged defamatory comments.
Bernard Antwi-Boasiako reportedly told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM Tuesday that Mr Agyepong was used by the then governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) last year for their own gains.

According to him, the suspended General Secretary received a plush vehicle from Ibrahim Mahama, brother of former President John Mahama, to do the bidding of the NDC.
Mr Agyepong has since described the statements as scandalous, saying that his reputation has been damaged.
In a letter dated October 30, 2017, Mr Agyepong’s lawyer, Nana Freduah Agyeman Osborn, said his client was requesting a retraction on Nhyira FM and Accra-based Neat FM where the said defamatory comments were made by Friday, 3 November.
The Council also wants “an order of the court compelling the first defendant to pay an amount of GHS400, 000 as punitive and exemplary damages to the plaintiff [him] as damages for the defamatory comments”.
But Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi repeated the same allegation, saying he is ready for any court action.

In an interview on Accra-based Peace FM Tuesday, Wontumi said he is yet to receive the suit from Kwabena Agyepong and his lawyer.
He believes that Nana Freduah Agyeman Osborn just wants to gain fame through him.
" . . The lawyer should just turn into a journalist . . . he is jumping from radio station to radio station just to use my name to be popular . . . if he is a lawyer he should just do a lawyer's work," he said.He further asked them to bring the suit to him on Thursday at the office.
