Captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan made his debut in the Chinese league scoring the winning goal for his new club Shanghai SIPG against Tianjin Teda.
Gyan was named to the bench by Sven Goran Eriksson after only training for a day with the full squad but was called upon at halftime with SIPG trailing to a Hernan Barcos goal.
Shanghai equalised from the penalty spot through Davi. With a pass from Dario Conca in the 80th minute, Gyan sent his team to the top of the league.
Gyan, 29, completed his mega $350,000 a week move to the Chinese Super League last week on a 2-year deal.
