Dumelo responds to criticism after he posted his vote online

Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo has posted a picture of himself on social media casting his ballot for the President. John Dumelo, who has been on the campaign trail canvassing for votes for President John Dramani Mahama in the 2016 elections, posted a photo of his ballot paper on his Snapchat account.

Speaking exclusively to Pulse.com.gh, the actor described the feeling of voting for his candidate as exciting. According to him, he voted for the right candidate who is the President and hopefully things will go on well.

“I voted in the Volta region. I also voted for the right candidate who is John Dramani Mahama and it was exciting.” he explained

He however refuted the claim by people on social media that he was trying to prove a point to the NDC Campaign team with the image

“I mean it’s just my choice and I’m not proving anything at all” he added.

John Dumelo has been a leading celebrity figure campaigning for the president in the 2016 elections and had a fall out with a number of his celebrity friends including Yvonne Nelson.  They pair have settled their squabbles since. The actor yesterday disclosed that he was threatened with death amongst  other  things just because he supported the ruling party.

However, it’s against electoral laws to post images or show your cast ballot to the public.
