You think your job is boring? Cheer up dude! Seriously, cheer up.
Unless you’re a lifeguard patrolling the Olympic pool at the Rio 2016.
The 2016 Rio Olympics are well underway and athletes like Michael Phelps have started claiming the medals as usual.
With coverage of sports events on social media having rocketed through the roof in recent years, the attention of viewers was drawn to something unexpected, probably the most boring job in the world.
A lifeguard at the Olympic pool in Rio.
The picture also did not help so as usual, Twitter had something to get on:
Just in case you feel useless
Annalise can relate
Chad Eagin just wants to do his job
Irony
But just so you know, this is why there are lifeguards at the pool.
“It is a Brazilian law that any public pool over a certain size has to have lifeguards,” Ricardo Prado, the sport manager for aquatics, told Reuters.
“We wish we didn’t have them either (at the Games) but we have to have them.”
