Ghana recorded a time of 43.37s to place last as Jamaica, Great Britain and Ukraine qualified from the group.
Flings Owusu-Agyapong, Gemma Acheampong, Beatrice Gyaman and Janet Amponsah represented Ghana as a team in Rio for the heat race in the 4x100 .
Team Ghana going into the 4x100 relay was ranked first in Africa and ninth in the world.
Ghana presented 16 athletes for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in Brazil.
The athletes failed to progress from their respective events at the games.
