Ghanaian youngster wins best player cum defender in the U.S

Roy Boateng has scooped two awards in the US  lower tier league

Ghanaian utility defender Roy Boatengs effort has been rewarded as he won the best defensive player as well as the Player of the Year in the Conference league.

The 22-year-old Ghanain defender beat off competition from a hosts of players talented players competing in the lower tier league to lift the ultimate after sterling performance.

Roy Boateng, who plies his trade in the Big West League, enjoyed a remarkable campaign to land himself the finest player of the division at the end of the season.

Players from the Six zonal Big West teams were culled for the end of the season award nights. The Rohnert born defender led Santa Rosa United to the 2013 States Cup.

Roy Boateng currently plays for UC Davis in the Conference League but could be moving the USL or Tue MLS in the coming season.
