It is the second time that SportPesa has invited the wrath of Everton fans

Everton shirt sponsor SportPesa has been involved in yet another outrageous tweet after describing the club as being in a "hopeless place".

The tweet posted on Wednesday evening was allegedly poking fun at Sam Allardyce's appointment as new head coach.

"Sam Allardyce is set to become the new Everton manager!" "Talk about finding love in a hopeless place... #EFC," the tweet read. It was accompanied by a gif of the former England boss dancing to Rihanna song We Found Love.

The post was soon deleted from the account.

This is the second time SportPesa has been forced to apologise after upsetting Everton fans over a Twitter gaffe.

Back in October, following Arsenal's 5-2 demolition of the Merseyside club, SportPesa tweeted: "[Five] goals from 5 different [players] = 3 [points]. Well in Gunners! Superb gift by the players for the birthday gaffer! #MadeOfWinners".

The tweet inivted the wrath of Everton fans, prompting SportPesa to delete it and release a lengthy statement apologising for "any offence caused".

Everton beat David Moyes' West Ham 4-0 with Rooney's hat trick enough to see them move to 13th position in the English Premier League standings.
