Samuel Etoo believes Ghana star
Ayew, 27, placed behind Yaya Toure and eventual winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 2015 edition.
And former Barcelona striker Eto'o has tipped the Ghana international to win the award in few years to come.
“Ayew can win three African Player of the Year Award, he has come close on two occasions and is likely he could win in the next time,’’ Eto’o told Ghana Sports Newspaper.
‘’He is still young and has lots of potentials. He has been good for both club and country.
‘’For me, he is one of the best African players in Europe now.
‘’He is performing well in the English Premier League for Swansea City and I think he can win the award for three times before he retires.’’
Andre Ayew would replicate what his father Abedi ‘Pele’ Ayew did if he is able to win the award on three occasions.
