Nigeria Football Federation Technical Director passes away

Shuaibu Amodu was announced dead at age 58, after complaining of chest pains on Friday

The sudden dead of Shuaibu Amodu happened just three days after his colleague former coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi passed on.

Amodu and Keshi were close friends and they worked as head coach and assistant coach of the Super Eagles to the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations where they finished third. The pair helped Nigeria qualify for the 2002 World Cup, but they were fired before the tournament.

According the Nigerian Football Federation’s official twitter handle, Shuaibu Amodu died in his sleep on Friday night, after he had complained of chest pains in Benin City, the same place Keshi died.

He coached the Super Eagles on four different occasions and is currently the Technical Director of the NFF
