Gareth Bale is reportedly unhappy at Real Madrid and is keen to leave the La Liga champions this summer.

Real's president Florentino Perez is said to want to offload the Welshman to pave the way for Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe.

Manchester United are showing interest in the 28-year-old with Jose Mourinho admitting this week he would welcome the winger to Old Trafford.

And according to Spanish website Don Balon, the Red Devils are considering making a £90m bid for the Wales international.

Jose Mourinho has admitted he wants Gareth Bale at Manchester United

The report says the offer will be broken down into two parts - a £72m upfront fee plus an additional £18m in add-ons.

If the full value is realised it will take Bale just past the £89m United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba last summer.

Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the winger, while there has been reports Tottenham may have a first-refusal clause for their former player.

However, should Bale become available, Mourinho has admitted this week he will not hesitate to welcome him to United with open arms.

How Manchester United could look with Gareth Bale

"If he is in the plans of the coach [Zinedine Zidane] and the club and it is in his own plans and ambitions to stay there, then I won't even think about it," he said.

"If he is not in the club's plans and it is true that a player like Bale is at the departure gate, I will try to be there waiting for him at the other side."

Bale would present the perfect opportunity for United to strengthen on the left flank, especially after struggling to agree a deal with Inter Milan for Ivan Perisic.

The Welshman is under contract at the Bernabeu until June 2022 having penned a new deal last October.
