Ghana’s group D opponent Egypt pip Tunisia in friendly

Egypt defeated their North African counterparts, Tunisia by a goal to nil on Sunday in a pre-AFCON game

The Pharaohs of Egypt edged Tunisia by a goal to nil in a warm-up game ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Saturday to test their readiness for the continental showpiece in Gabon

The Pharaohs dominated the possession for the opening 10 minutes but without causing any danger on Tunisia’s goal, but The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia took over  possession after the 15th minute mark, but they couldn't break down the defence of the Egyptians.

The first half of the game ended with both sides failing to find the back of the net.

The second half was a balanced game with both sides having a fair share of the possession and opportunities, but they failed to break the deadlock in the the early minutes.

But as the game seemed to be heading toward a dull draw, Marwan Mohsen scored the winner for Egypt in the second minute of the additional time.

Al Ahly striker received Kahraba’s pass inside the box under pressure, before beating the defender and striking low in the bottom corner leaving Mathlouthi with no chance. The game ended in a 1-0 win for Egypt, marking the Pharaohs’ first victory over Tunisia since 2002.
