The five winners of the second BBC Arabic Festival Awards were announced at the finale to the four-day Festival.

Five winners of 2015 BBC Arabic Festival  Awards was announced at Broadcasting House in London, on Monday, November 2, 2015.

The announcement was made at the finale to the four-day Festival which ran from Friday October 30, to Monday November 2, 2015.

The awards were hosted by Iranian-born British stand-up comedian and author, Shappi Khorsandi.

The winners are:

'The Immortal Sergeant'. Directed by Ziad Kalthoum, the movie tells the story of Syrians as they struggle with grief and trauma whilst attempting to continue with their ordinary lives.

'Safwan Market.' Directed by Hadi Mahood, the documentary tells the story of vendors in Iraq's Safwan Market when faced with an order for the market's demolition.

'Sisa, Iron Lady.' Directed by Aly Elsotohy, the movie tells the story of Egyptian Sisa Abu Daooh, who spent 43 years dressing as a man in order to work and support her child.

'The Great Safae.' Directed by Randa Maroufi, 'The Great Safe' tells the story of a transgender woman, who spent part of her life working as a domestic servant for the director's family.

'Jumana Saadeh.' for 'Second Hand Refugee.'
