"The Revenant" is based on the novel by Michael Punke, and features Tom Hardy and Leonard DiCapiro in lead roles.

20th Century Fox has released new TV spot for its upcoming action adventure featuring Tom Hardy and Leonardo DiCaprio.

S ynopsis

In 1823, fur trapper Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) is mauled by a bear while hunting in what will become the Dakota Territory.

His companions rob him, murder his young half-Native American son, and leave him to die, but he survives and sets out on a 200 mile trek to get revenge on the men who betrayed him and find the man (Hardy) who killed his son.

Directed and co-written by Academy Award winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu, the upcoming film also stars Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter.

Based on the novel by Michael Punke, 'The Revenant' is scheduled for a limited theater release on Christmas Day.
