The singer, who is known for his towering contribution towards the success of the group is about to turn up clubs with a new Afro-pop single.
Explaining the meaning of the title of the song, Ahkan disclosed in an interview that: “‘Barawo’ is a Hausa word used to describe a thief or thievery.”
The Moneyfarm and Hit In Motion Record artiste stated that even though the title suggests streetism, it’s purely a love song and targeted at lovers who are extremely in love.
Ahkan said: “Literally, the song is a love song and it talks about a girl who has stolen the heart of a guy. And because of that people are happy…they are not happy with the fact that the guy is given the lady all his attention and showing so much love and care. The guy is doing all these because the girl has a good character. The song is a club banger.”
As to whether the group is on the brink of a split, Ahkan stated categorically that Ruff N Smooth is tight and that his colleague, Bullet, will soon drop his solo single.
“I am just taking the chance to demonstrate my solo capabilities. Bullet will soon release his solo track and after that, we will come back to release our album. Ruff N Smooth is still strong,” he added.
“Barawo” is scheduled for release on Saturday, June 3. Production credit goes to Citrus Beat.
