Freda was crowned winner of MTN Hitmaker 6 as she makes history, by setting the pace for prospective female contestants on the music reality show to go for gold.

The moment of her investiture as the new queen of the music reality show comes, following another night of superfine performances.

In defiance of her impressive staging, she faced stiff competition from equally good finalists Drew, Yaw Berk and Xali, who placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively.

Second-placed Drew was also a surprise recipient of a lip-smacking GHc20,000 aimed at helping him in his music career.

She takes over from last season’s winner Kurl Songx [then known as Kelvin].

She joins the list of winners which includes Naterial (Season 1 winner), Koo Ntakra (Season 2 winner), Togbe (Season 3 winner), Kidi (Season 4 winner), and Kurl Songx [then Kelvin] (Season 5 winner).

Backed by the Patch Bay Band, there were performances from some past contestants like F9, Koo Ntakra, Kidi, and Kuami Eugene, who are already making strides in Ghana music.

The grand finale which took place at the National Theatre on Wednesday night was hosted by Berla Mundi, and Giovani Caleb.

Judges Francis Doku and Caroline Sampson were generally impressed with the performance of the contestants.
