“My family has been living in the United States since 2004”

Obour has rebutted claims by Akoo Nana that he spends the Unions money on his family abroad.

The President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffour, known in music as Obour has rebutted claims by Akoo Nana that he spends the Unions money on his family abroad.

Akoo Nana also claimed the Obour shunned his duties as union president leaving the musicians to fend for themselves.

In an interview on Joy FM with Doreen Andoh on her show Cosmopolitan Mix he denied the claims.

He admitted that his family had been living abroad since he had his hit single “Konkontibaa” in 2004.

“Recently I heard one from Akoo Nana. He hears that my family is in the US and he concludes I have taken MUSIGA’S money. My family has been living in the US since Konkontibaa days” he disclosed.

“If you don’t know and you just say that Obour has made money [from MUSIGA]. It is sad”, he said.

The leader of the union said the complaints he receives about his administrations is due to people’s misunderstanding of MUSIGA’s role.

Obour revealed that the union was strategizing to upgrade it communication machinery to better inform and educate Ghanaians on the mandate of MUSIGA.
