E.L has explained why he started his acclaimed “B.A.R” series three years ago.
During a one-on-one interview on Pulse TV, the 33-year-old award-winning musician said fans were pushing him into the ‘Azoto box’ and he wasn’t pleased with it.
“B.A.R series started because people were pushing me into the Azonto box and I didn’t like it,” he said.
He continued “I, being one of the original or early members of the Skillions – one of the early Hip-hop groups to represent Ghana; I felt I have to do something about it. So decided to put my friends and all the people who I thought were excellent rappers and Hip-hop heads onto one project and named it ‘B.A.R’ [acronym for Best African Rapper].”
He said “B.A.R III” is not just about Hip-hop and also hinted that he may release a Dancehall mixtape in the future.
“B.A.R III” album launch took place at the Kristal Night Club in Osu over the weekend. The exclusive event saw all the featured artistes present including industry players and invited fans and guests. He will soon launch the album.
