The footbridges were awarded for construction in November 2018 and commissioned last year following series of demonstrations by residents of the area.
Angry soldier deals with recalcitrant pedestrians at Madina-Adentan footbridge (video)
If you thought the popular Adentan footbridge was too long and tall to use in crossing the deadly highway, then watch this video of an angry soldier punishing pedestrians for abandoning it and crossing the road dangerously.
They were vehement in calling for the footbridges to help stop accidents which have claimed many lives at the said spot.
However, after their completion, some of the same residents have expressed misgivings about the long and winding nature of the bridges, hence they abandon them and resort to crossing the roads riskily.
Over 50 pedestrians were arrested by the Madina Police for failing to use the footbridges but it has not deterred some recalcitrant pedestrians.
A recent video circulating online shows a military man punishing two men who tried to cross the roads without using the footbridges.
