A 24-year-old mother, Heidy Rios, of Terrytown has been arrested and charged with cruelty to juvenile after she threw her 3-week-old baby at the feet of her husband during an argument fracturing the baby’s skull.
According to reports by Nola.com/The Times-Picayune reports, Heidy Rios’ husband had been arguing with her when she threw the baby out of anger, telling him to “take” his son.
When the husband took the baby to the New Orleans hospital, doctors determined the infant had fractured his right temporal bone, but were quick to add that the injuries were not life-threatening.

Rios tried to claim ignorance about the baby’s injuries by initially telling investigators she didn’t know how her son got hurt.
However, as the interrogations proceeded, she later admitted that she may have dropped the child during the dispute.
According to africanspotlight.com, a Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office arrest report say Rios was arrested and charged for the offence, but it is not clear whether she had a counsel at the time of the arrest and charge.
