Just as no living thing can survive without food and water, a notorious drug trafficker who was arrested just weeks after returning from prison for the same offence has said that he is addicted to the marijuana business.

Operatives of Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have reportedly arrested a 55-year-old suspected drug trafficker with 1,072kg of Indian Hemp weeks after he came out of prison on October 8 for a similar reason.

He was sentenced to a year imprisonment for carrying 64kg of dried Indian hemp some years ago.

After his recent arrest, he told the law enforcement officers that the illicit drug business is part of his blood and he simply cannot stop it just because it is illegal.

“Cannabis business is my blood, it is extremely difficult for me to stop it. When I was embarking on this trip from Lagos to Sokoto, I never knew that the operatives would arrest me in Mokwa, it is my luck," Umaru Shehu said.
