Woman docked for allegedly stabbing landlord with broken bottle

He said that the accused, during the fight, broke a bottle and stabbed the landlord on the left palm.

A 31-year-old woman, Ololade Aigboje, who allegedly stabbed her landlord with a broken bottle, was on Thursday charged before an Ikeja Magistrates' Court in Lagos.

Aigboje, a trader, who lives at 1, Bolanle Oladehinde Close, Agbado, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a charge of assault.

The prosecutor, Insp. Edet Okoi, told the court that the offence was committed on Nov. 13 at MAO Filling Station, Kola Road, Alakuko, a suburb of Lagos.

Okoi said a fight ensued between the accused and her landlord, Mr Aderibigbe Alao.

"The complainant bled profusely as a result of the injury he sustained. The offence contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011,’’ he said.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Miss A.R Onilogbo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till Dec. 9, for mention.
