The 19-year old girl from Old Naledi told the police that she had been hitch-hiking at a Notwane farms bus stop when Constable Motsumi who was driving a police car pulled over.

Motsumi is said to have demanded the young lady to produce her identity card and when she told him that she did not have it, and told him her Ndebele name, he arrested her on grounds that she may be an illegal immigrant.

The girl is said to have struggled and eventually managed to escape from the vehicle and managed to get to the police station where she reported the matter.
