The man identified as Marshal Bernard and his new lover also identified only as Nene recently got engaged in the presence of family and friends.
Bernard's friend, Ubong Sampson is reported as saying that Marshal had put up the engagement plan with both his friends and those of Nene without her knowing.
According to Briefly.co.za, on the day of the engagement, Marshal was distant from Nene all day, claiming to be engaged in some important activities, while another friend of Bernard, Courage Mbon, pretended to have run into Nene in the company of her friends at the engagement venue and offered to give them a short treat.
The news website added that Nene left the venue briefly with Mbon, and before she returned, the planners had got the stage set with Bernard on his knee holding a ring.
He then popped the question, ‘will you marry me’? and with a blend of surprise and excitement, Nene said ‘yes’.
Bernard then hinted of announcing the wedding date soon, after expressing gratitude to his friends for making the proposal successful according to plan.
