This unfortunate but factual characteristic of African politics has pushed a 27-year-old former aspirant for Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat in Kenya to put up one of his testicles for sale for Sh500,000.
âWhat is the need of having two of them (testicles) dangling between my legs if I can still do the job perfectly with just one?â Ian-Harriel Kowiti quizzed. "Imagine that there is someone out there who canât have a child for one reason or another. I just want to share what I have, for a little profit of course! Iâm tired of being broke, yet I donât need two testicles!â
You could lose a testicle while you're asleep.
In an interview with The Nairobian, Ian-Harriel Kowiti, who hails from Uriri Constituency in Migori County said he is financially handicapped and does not see why he should keep carrying âuseless treasuresâ.
The young man reportedly tasted politics in Kenyaâs last General Election as an independent candidate, but did not win.
Guess what! Kowiti is also prepared to sell one of his kidneys for Sh1.5 million for âa local client,â and three times that amount for âclientâ based outside the country.
âI wouldnât mind donating my kidney, itâs only that I am now financially constrained and wouldnât mind some cash in exchange for the organ.
âA doctor friend confirmed to me that you can lead a healthy and fulfilling life with just one kidney. It pains me that there is someone out there who is suffering because of kidney failure and has to spend so much money on dialysis. I have two functioning kidneys, and I consider it the right thing to do to give out one.
âIf I were to donate my kidney, the interested party would have to cater for the cost of surgery and my travel expenses, that is if the operation has to take place outside the country,â Kowiti is quoted as saying.
