Woman jailed 25 years for stabbing her son to death because he’s gay

A woman has been slapped with over 25 years imprisonment after a court found her guilty of killing her son because he is gay.

Bloody knife

The Brazilian mother identified as Tatiana Ferreira Lozano Pereira was recently sentenced to 25 years and eight months in prison after she was convicted of killing her 17-year-old son Itaberli Lozano in December 2016.

Reports say she had hired two hitmen Victor Roberto da Silva and Miller da Silva Barissa to kill the teenager but they failed to do the job. They beat up the boy after his mother lured him home under the guise of reconciliation but for reasons known to them, they refused to kill him as instructed.

Once the process started, Tatiana Ferreira Lozano Pereira thought it wise to finish it up herself; so, she stabbed her son till he died.

At her trial, she admitted to killing her son, claiming that he had threatened her life.

Meanwhile, the deceased teenager’s paternal uncle Dario Rosa reportedly told Brazilian TV station EPTV that Lozano was a well-behaved youth but his only problem with his mother was that she just never wanted to accept his sexuality.

He again told police: “He had a job, he was very polite, [and] he never quarrelled with anyone. He only had problems with his mother, who did not accept that he was a homosexual.”

The very jury which determined Tatiana Ferreira Lozano Pereira’s sentence also jailed to 21 years and eight months each in prison, Victor Roberto da Silva and Miller da Silva Barissa, the two hitmen the woman hired to kill her son.
