Yet another thief has found himself in handcuffs thanks to his smartphone.
But it wasnât an ill-advised selfie that led to the arrest on this occasion. It was a Snapchat.
Christopher Wallace, who allegedly stole a cast iron wood stove and a propane cook stove from a house in Somerset County, Maine, was missed by police when they conducted a search of the property.
Presumably thrilled that he had outfoxed the police, Wallace then decided to Snapchat his location to his thoroughly untrustworthy friends, one of whom promptly told the cops.
âA search of the kitchen cabinets turned up some food, some pots and pans, and also a pair of feet,â Somerset County Sheriffâs office wrote on its Facebook page.
âThe pair of feet just so happened to be attached to a person, and that person was Christopher Wallace. He was removed from the cabinet, and placed under arrest.â
Erika Hall, a woman who was in the house at the time of the arrest, was also detained for âhindering the apprehensionâ of Wallace by claiming she hadnât seen him in weeks.
âAll of that, brings me to the moral of the story,â an officer said.
âAlways remain humble, my friends.â
