(Huffington Post)

Once in a while, we get a little down, even sometimes depressed. Often times, it hard to pinpoint the exact thing that is making us feel so down. Other times we are just overwhelmed, sad or disappointed because things didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to.

Regardless of what the reason is for feeling a little down, one thing is true, nobody like to feel that way, what we wish for the most and need is a pick-me-up. Here are a few ideas that could pick you up from feeling a little down.

1.     Have your favourite drink and take a walk!

2.     Pause whatever you are doing and watch funny videos

3.     Play with your pet or your neighbour’s pet.

4.     Eat something that brought you so much joy as child

5.     Cook for yourself (and invite someone over if you feel up to it )

6.     Get active. Play some lively music. Dance. Go for a jog. Don’t just sit there feeling sad for yourself

7.     Give someone a long hug, anyone, really.

8.     Make happy and goofy faces in the mirror and take selfies

9.     Make a list of the things you are grateful for

10.  Do something you’ve have put off for a while now

11.  Take a long Shower and groom yourself

12.  Talk about it. Got a significant other, best friend, family member, co-worker you can talk to? If you don’t, find a catholic church, there are priests you can just have a chat with for free or talk to a taxi driver or the banana seller at your junction if not about your problem, about the latest hit song, maybe.
