Olympic gold medalist, Michael Phelps proposed to his girlfriend, ex-beauty queen, Nicole Johnson, on Saturday February 21, 2015.
The 29-year-old professional swimmer shared a photo on Instagram showing the couple frolicking in the snow. He captioned it: "She said yes @nicole.m.johnson. (Photocredit to @arschmitty)."
The equally excited bride-to-be, 29, posted a picture of her embracing her new fiance and showing off her dazzling diamond ring on Instagram wit the caption: "I'm gonna be a Mrs. @m_phelps00."
The pair have been in an on-again, off-again relationship for years. Johnson first dated the athlete in 2011 when he was competing in the FINA World Championships.

They later reunited this past summer and he shared a picture of Johnson at his family's Thanksgiving dinner following his publicized stint in rehab.
The 18-time gold medalist entered rehab in October after getting a DUI. He was also suspended from swimming for six months.
"I understand the severity of my actions and take full responsibility," Phelps said in a statement at the time. "I know these words may not mean much right now but I am deeply sorry to everyone I have let down."
Well, congratulations to Phelps and Johnson on their engagement.
