What you might not realize, though, is that it was a Facebook post that got Gypsy and Godejohn caught -and you can still find that post on Facebook, along with Gypsy Rose and Dee Dee's complete Facebook profile.

A little bit of backstory in case you're new: Gypsy Rose was abused by her mother Dee Dee, who suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy , leading her to pretend Gypsy was ill and mentally and physically disabled in order to get attention, sympathy, and money. When Gypsy realized that her ailments were a lie, she tried to escape, failed, and eventually decided to ask for Godejohns help in killing her mother.
After Godejohn stabbed Dee Dee to death in her Missouri home, he and Gypsy fled to Wisconsin, where Godejohn lived. From there, Gypsy posted a message to the joint Facebook account she shared with her mother. You can search for this account under Dee Gyp Blancharde. The profile is an old photo of Gypsy wearing a straw sun hat, laying in the grass and holding a teddy bear, and the account even has infamous pictures of Gypsy in a Cinderella costume.
The first visible post is the one that Gypsy wrote following her mothers murder, when she arrived in Wisconsin. That Bitch is dead! it says, posted on June 14, 2015. The comments show the conversation between family and friends as they try to figure out what happened, which you can see for yourself if you visit the Facebook page.
Eventually, the post prompted concerned neighbors to call the police, who then found Dee Dees body and traced the post back to Godejohns house.
Gypsy has talked about why she wrote the Facebook post in past interviews . I couldnt stand the thought of her just there because what happens if it would have taken months to find her, so I wanted her found so she could have a proper burial. She also mentioned that she hoped people would assume shed been kidnapped. Her post worked, in a way, getting the police to her mom quicker-but it also led them directly to her and Godejohn.
The Facebook page is a legacy account, which means you cant like or comment on anything, but you can share posts. It features photos of Gypsy in princess costumes and wigs, as well as a Star Wars outfit. The infamous That Bitch is dead! post has been shared 21,000 times. Yikes.
