Former Manchester United forward David Beckham recently surprised a family with the sum of $100,000 (N20m).
A Californian family were surprised to answer to a knock o the door to find Beckham standing at their front door.
The former Real Madrid player surprised the family while appearing on Ryan Seacrest's new TV show Knock Knock Live, which surprises unsuspecting American families with a live camera crew and a chance to win some money.
Beckham appeared in the night of Tuesday, July 21 to recognize a hard-working family similar to the one he grew up in.
Mrs Gonzales immediately recognised him when she opened the door as she screamed to welcome the football icon.
Beckham first handed the family seven new iPhones from Sprint mobile, the phone network he has recently become the face of and told them that the phone bills have been covered for ten years.
There was to be one more big surprise as he handed over a tiny envelope containing a cheque for a whopping $100,000.
The family received the gift in tears of joy before leading Beckham to the back garden for a kick-about.
"Giving the cheque for $100k, you can see it means so much to them. You can see it has literally changed their lives," Beckham said.
"I'm very fortunate in my life, and to be able to do this for this family that works so hard... it is an amazing feeling."
