Final year students writing their BECE exams

BECE graduates can now have the opportunity to check their school placement on mobile before the final placement by Ghana Education Service and the Computerized school selection & placement system (CSSPS) secretariat.

Graduates can now text their index numbers followed by the lasttwo (2) digits of the year of completion to short code 1060 to all networks.

Texting will run from August to September, 2015.

Rev. Johnathan Bettey, PRO of Ghana Education Service told Pulse.com.gh, that "We want to avoid where parents will be worried and students will be worried at the later part when the placement results are out".

The CSSPS became operational in September 2005, two years after the GES Council has taken the decision in 2003 to implement it. About two years was used to do the preparatory work to ensure a smooth take off.

It seeks to improve the manual system of selection and placement of qualified BECE candidates into Public and Private SHS, TI and Vocational Institutes by replacing the Manual System with a Computerised one.
