Addison said he can beat incumbent MP Nii Armah Ashitey of the NDC.
Speaking in an interview with Citi FM, the lawyer who was the lead counsel for Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2012 election petition said the decision to go for the seat was not an easy one to take.
"You will not believe this but I have not discussed my candidature with Nana Akufo-Addo. I do not want his influence at this stage.
"I believe that I should, on my own steam, gauge the level of support for me. And at this stage I am fully satisfied with the kind of reaction I am receiving,"

The lawyer became popular during the 2012 election petition suit filed by Nana Akufo-Addo, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey at the Supreme Court.
