The Korle Bu Senior Staff Association will today, April 21, 2016 embark on a demonstration to register its displeasure over what it calls mismanagement of the health facility by management.

In an interview with Pulse.com.gh, the Executive Secretary of KOSSA, Gabby Oduro said the aim of the demonstration is to protest clinical failure and "Save Korle Bu from total collapse."

The hospital has been faced with several challenges recently, with staff accusing its Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Gilbert Buckle of mismanaging the hospital’s internally generated funds and paying what they termed needless judgement debts.

The CEO assumed office in July 2014, following staff agitation against then acting CEO, Rev. Albert Okpoti Botwe, and then Board Chair Eddie Annan over similar concerns.

Sources at the hospital have told Pulse.com.ghthat the hospital is suffering from severe shortage of consumables, including surgery gowns for doctors to wear before carrying out their operation, sterilization machines, and so on.

They argue the situation is having a toll on their operations.

A lot of patients were recently left stranded because they could not get access to ICU facilities.

President of Korle Bu Senior Staff Association (KOSSA), Mr.Charles Offei-Palmwas earlier this month relieved of his post for allegedly defying a media policy by granting an interview to an Accra-based radio station, during which he made some offensive comments against management.
