French champions to wear black armbands in respect of helicopter crash victims

The Ligue 1 side will pay respect to those killed in Argentina helicopter crash that include three French Athletes

French Champions, Paris St Germain will wear black armbands at Stamford Bridge as a mark of respect for those killed in a helicopter crash in Argentina on Monday, March 9.

Three of the 10 deceased from the - were renowned yachtswoman Florence Arthaud, Olympic swimmer Camille Muffat and Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine- and PSG boss Laurent Blanc said 'the whole of French sport was in mourning'.

"I would like to say on behalf of the players and staff at PSG that we express our sincere condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives in the helicopter accident in Argentina. The whole of French sport is in mourning. I knew some of them personally. We will be wearing black armbands on our right arms in the game," Laurent Blanc said.

PSG face Chelsea to contest a place in the UEFA Champions League quarter finals. The tie is level at 1-1 after the first leg in France.
