Thursday's referendum saw a turn out of 450,812, representing 85.82 per cent of the 525,275 registered voters in the enclave, turned out for the exercise.
At the end of the collation of the entire results from the 11 districts and municipalities forming the proposed region, 448,545 people representing 99.5 per cent of the total votes cast voted YES while 1,384 people, representing 0.3 per cent voted NO.
A total of 883 votes representing 0.2 per cent were rejected.
The Electoral Commission's Returning Officer, Mr James Yeboah Arthur declared the results at about 6.05 am Friday.
